The cartoon movie that i am after i am sure was called the last dinosaur. It is where a group of dinosaurs all friendly they are befriended by a boy then they end up in central park in america and they get captured and brain washed to perform in a circus. The little boy ends up saving them with the help of a friend. I also remember them being in a street parade.

I would appreciate ir if any one could help me find a copy of this. It was shown on australian TV about 5 years ago or more.

What is your view of destroying Barbies for pleasure or for creating artistic expression ?

I have seen countless videos on My Space, YOUTUBE, and other sites of Barbies being destroyed through various methods. Is seeing it or actual participating in such activity acceptable behavior? There orften is laughter or approval by the participants in them. Kat Surth has a video on My Space which envolves her destroying Barbies in the name of art. She is quite pleased as she performs this activity on camera. This is quite evident as she breaks them in half and removes several heads. The psychological imbalance comes first, then the mutilation of Barbies, Kermit frogs, live kittens and puppys etc. Breaking apart of anything, framing it, and displaying it as "art" is neither here nor there.

Barbie Dolls were contrived by its inventor to indoctrinate little girls into a life of shopping for clothes, makeup, shoes, cars, Kens etc. Breaking them apart and displaying them as "art" is probably a conscious or unconscious desire to express a contempt for such indoctrination and brain washing of our young people.

Kid continues to have weak punches, kicks (Kenpo Karate)?

My 9 yr old girl has been learning Kenpo Karate for 4 years. She is very slim in her build, and weights quite less for her age.

She has mastered the katas well, and has taken part in tournaments. But, she seems to perform everything like a choreographed move. There is no strength at all in her punches, kicks. She's been sparring for 2.5 years, but just seems to be using very weak punches, kicks.

I spoke to the Sensei's and they only say "she is doing a good job". I encourage my kid to put more force in punches, kicks. She does for 1 or 2 classes, and then she is back to usual loose/weak punches/kicks.

Sensei's say she will get the strength as she grows. I'm not sure. Other kids younger than her show much more strength in punches/kicks. She is in karate mainly to learn self-defense. If her punches/kicks continue to be weak, seems to be no point.

Bah to all the other responses...your problem is that you're daughter is hitting with the wrong tools. A nine year old girl cannot generate the power from a punch to do ANYTHING to a full grown male....understand this and learn it well. You should be teaching her things that actually work....nasty things...eyes gouges, elbow strikes because they hit like a blunt object, palms that won't hurt her knuckles, ect. Kicks aren't going to do crap because she's a girl, if a nine year old kicked or hit me (i'm a 21 year old male) it would do absolutely nothing. Teach her awareness and prevention, and if she needs the extra then make sure it's where it counts.

Also it sounds like she tries for a few classes and then stops, it could be that she just doesn't care as much as you sad to say. She's just a little girl she doesn't get why you want her to hit harder she may be interested just for the fun or might be very bored with the style. Kempo also has many weaknesses...most stylized arts do. Get her in some self defense courses taught by police officers ect...trained people. In a real fight your daughter, by training in kempo, is not going to get into form one and strike an attacker...she's going to scream and freeze up, possibly cry, and get hurt badly. Fighting (real life death fighting) is much more chaotic then you understand.

I learn ju jitsu and i'm under the average weight of all the other students in my class. My sensei has always advised me to use speed rather than strength i find it really more affective than strength
Let it come with time. She's only nine, how strong do expect her to be? The most important thing is that she has fun and doesn't lose interest. As long as she has the forms down practicing them will aid in strength conditioning.
I would suggest not worrying about it.

Putting a lot of force behind a punch that doesn't hit anything can stress and/or injure the schtuff in the shoulder.

If she occasionally demonstrates the appropriate level of force, then she knows how to do it and if she needs to hit someone she'll do it with whatever force she decides the situation needs.

Understanding the dynamics of a fight and the use of force is *far* more important than either perfect form or throwing your hands around with full military power all the time.

Besides, you really don't *want* to hit people with your bare hands, that's what sticks, bottles, and bricks are for.

Ultimately whichever variant of Kenpo she is studying may not be right for her mindset and body. There's 100s of arts out there, you may wish to try and find one that suits her better. Akido is great for self defense, Jujitsu/Judo teach a lot of rolling and falls which have a great utility outside of fighting,

Also she may (look, I'm extrapolating from very litttle data here) just not really enjoy what she's doing all that much. Something like Capoeria http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capoeira may be a little more interesting and give her some of the skills she needs.

Ultimately wait until she's 18 and buy her snub nosed .38. That hits hard enough.
Take her out of Kempo and get her into a reputable Wing Chun school. Her strength will not matter as she progresses. This art was invented by and is best suited for women.
Don't expect adult performance from a child. A nine-year old girl isn't going to be able to effectively defend herself against an adult, and shouldn't be expected to. When my daughter was nine I could hold her off with one hand, and now she's 14 it takes both hands and some leverage.

As your daughter grows she will develop more strength as well as the savvy to know why you want her to know how to defend herself. Self defence isn't a high priority for kids that age, and maybe she doesn't see the need to put forth that much effort with no real threat. For her it may be a fun hobby, not a life or death situation, and that is as it should be right now.

Obviously you care for her greatly, but let her be a kid, without the burden of having to grow up at nine so she can defend herself on her shoulders. When she is older everything will come together. In the meantime, keep the burden of protecting her on your shoulders and have a great time with your daughter.

The sport to learn hard punches and kicks is boxing, kickboxing, and muay thai.

Not surprisingly these are the only arts where fighters make a living of it.

Especially in boxing's case where there are millions of dollars at stake you would assume the guys have looked at every possible way to hit harder, and started doing it already 100 years ago.

Take it from a soldier and heavyweight who has crosstrained and been hit with everything from kicks, punches, throat strikes, karate chops and even a frying pan or two, the full contact sports are the closest thing to real life.

They hit two or three times harder than anything else out there.

If you can find a boxing trainer or kickboxer around who teaches kids(And they are around, and its a good atmosphere-the pros and high level guys stick to their training, and the kids do there's, and the pro's look after them)

your kid will double or triple their hitting power within a few weeks.

I know, I know, there;s too many right?! Its such an amazing show. My personal favourite (series 5) is the sequence with The Fray - How to save a life on, where those patients die and Dr Cox thinks its all his fault. Its incredible how they switched from comedy to such emotion in the same episode, fantastic acting. I also really love where Polyphonic Spree guest and perform Light and Day. Oh and when Turk comes back from his honeymoon and him and JD couldn't find each other in the hospital, had me in stitches :) So many great moments!!

My bro was watching this show, he said that it said it was a true story (said at the start it was apparently and it was on the discovery channel), and it was about this lady who was possesed by a demon.

She would threaten people, speak in a "demonic" voice and all this other stuff. She would also usually black out when this stuff happened and wouldn't remember it.

So they got a priest in to perform an excorcism, of course she started having a fit like thing - and apparently the chair levitated right before the demon left.

I laughed the whole time i was watching it, its just ridiculous. They would drink holy water to try and get rid of the demon etc.

It's show biz, kid.
Some people think that exorcisms prove the existence of God. Their logic is that if there are demons, then there must be angels.....and if there are angels...then there is a God. etc.

But, if you think outside the box, what is really going on with that woman in the first place? I doubt its a demon. I, being an atheist, do not believe in God, angels, demons, heaven or hell. But, I do, however, believe in ghosts. Is it really possible for a ghost to inhabit the bodies of the living? We don't know.....but its a possible alternative theory.

Another theory, is that its television. They are not bound by any law that says they can't lie to you. It may not have been a true story, like they said.
I remember that show. I think it's interesting that the only account there is of the story is the Church. They have credibility issues if you ask me. Anyway, I think it's much more likely that a person can be extremely mentally ill. I have an aunt who has a form of epilepsy that looks very much like the demonic possessions you see in the movies. She had to spend six months in a mental hospital and was doped up to her eyeballs, but she was stabilized with medication.

I would sooner believe Chris Angel is supernatural then I would that demons or God are real. And No I don't believe the mind freek is supernatural. Only that he is a good illusionist!

There's this guy in my theater class I find attractive, but he has a girlfriend, so I've left it alone. I'm friendly with him, not flirty. However, I think he likes me. During class he'll talk to me, sit by me, etc. When our class puts on a show, sometimes his gf will come see him and when she does, he won't even speak to me to say "break a leg," much less look in my direction. What's up with that? I already know he's taken and I have common sense as well as morals, so his relationship is safe from me. He can talk normally to other girls in the class when she's around. We have to perform together for the next month, and we're going to end up in the same sorts of classes repeatedly. I just think it's weird and I'm not sure how I should behave towards him now.

You shouldn't lead him on. keep in mind another gal has set his heart on him and he loves her too. Dont let his tiny infactuation or feelings to you spoil a smooth relationship. Make it clear to him you are not a man-hunter.
Sounds like this guy likes you. Now whether or not he likes you for just a friend or if he likes you for more none of us can really know that for sure without asking him.

Whatever the reason behind his ignoring you once his girlfriend arrives on the scene, it looks as though its pretty relevant (atleast to him) or he wouldn't keep doing that. Whether it be something with his girlfriend, or something with the way he feels about you, again none of us can really know that answer without asking him.

My suggestion for you in this is try and confront him about it at a time when you both can be free to talk as you need to (in other words: no girlfriend present, no busy practice going on in the background, etc.). Talking to him is the only real way to shed some light on this subject.

Be kind and compassionate about your approach when it comes to this too. And please note, I'm not suggesting you make a move to steal him away or anything. I actually admire your stand for leaving his relationship with him and his girlfriend alone and letting them have it. If your friendship with him is going to last at all though, there needs to be some communication here between the two of you.

I have a friend/co-worker who admitted that he likes me and attracted to me. I didnt like him but the more we talk on the phone I started to like him. We went out 6x last time we kissed and almost had sex. A month ago his mom passed away so he's lost and confuse . He told me that he's not ready for a relationship He said it takes alot of work to be in a relationship at this point of his life he doesnt think he can perform his role as my boyfriend. He's really upset about what happened to his mom . When we are at work i can tell that he cares for me. He will always initiate our conversation. assuming you do really like him, so that you wouldn't be sending any possible false signals, i would definitely call him. Since it sounds like you two are good friends as it is, the call could have a dual purpose of doing a good thing as a regular friend as well as for a possible relationship. Also, you said it yourself that he would call you so you could talk about what was bothering you, so you owe it to him to call and check up on him.

We have been married for 3 years and have 2 kids together, he was divorced and has a child from that marriage also.

Everyday he complains, the house isn't clean enough, i don't wash his shirts right, when he loses something - it's my fault, I didn't perform a certain errand exactly when he wanted (he will hound and hound and hound and nag until I do something he wants), he criticizes my parenting, blames any negative behavior of my children on one of my bad traits they inherited. He's also hypocritical - criticizing me for things he does just the same or worse.

I've tried the conventional ways of working this out. He just tells me I'm feeling sorry for myself. I would not give up on my marriage for this. We commited under God. But if I can't change him, how can I react that is positive and show I am not a doormat? The longer I know him the more unassertive and passive I become.

You are married to a text-book verbally abusive man. Verbal abuse is not just about name-calling. It's also about continual subliminal criticism. Sometimes you don't even realise it's happening. He doesn't see you as a person in your own right. He can't. He sees you as his favourite teddy and teddies always do as they are told. You are supposed to know exactly how he likes things to be done, said etc. When you step out of "his" line you get punished. He can't relate to you as a person because somewhere along the line, probably when he was very young, his feelings were continually invalidated and his emotional needs were never met, therefore he never learned to 'love'. To him you are a pretend person. His teddy. Yes, you will become ground down, less assertive and ever more passive. You'll lose sight of yourself and will feel so controlled that you will BECOME this pretend person.You will do and say anything that will not provoke an "attack," Anything to keep the peace. His thoughts will become your thoughts, his opinions will become yours. You eventually won't be able to distinguish between the two. But they will always be his thoughts, his opinions you are actually believing are yours. I bet everyone else thinks he's a wonderful attentive husband, and how lucky you are! They don't have a clue what's going on behind closed doors do they. And they never will because they would never believe how such a publically congenial, laughing joking man could be such a monster at home. You probably don't feel you can tell your mutual friends how things really are because you feel too intimidated to rock the boat. You have two children between you. This makes it much harder for you to even think about getting out of this abusive situation. Nothing anybody says to you is going to convince you that you should get out now. You have to reach that place yourself. Just please remember that he won't change, because you will become compliant and that's what he wants. The change has to come from you. Unfortunately it took me a hell of a lot longer to come to my senses. For the first fifteen years I was also horrendously physically abused. That stopped but the verbal and emotional abuse carried on. Why stay? By that time I was the ultimate pretend person. I wasn't in any way shape or form "me". But even being "compliant" didn't work. He had a bad day? Take it out on teddy.

You don't mention that there's any violence in your relationship. Don't wait around for it to go down that road.

You'll have to learn to ignore him. Do the absolute minimum you can to avoid an argument, and ignore his b1tching. You can't exactly "put your foot down" if you have no bargaining power; what are you going to say - "threat me right, or..." Or what? If you're going to stay no matter how bad it gets, there really isn't anything you can do. If you believe in god, maybe you can pray that he enlightens your husband. I just don't see that you have that many options.

wow, i think i could have written this story. EVERYTHING that went bad in our marriage, my husband acted the same way. i was ALWAYS wrong, if something happened it was my fault, same!

anyway, i actually had a great friend at the time literally smacked me in the back of the head and told me to wake up! i was just as much a part of this marriage as he was, and i needed to start standing up for myself. she was going to give me a backbone even if she had to shove it up my a.ss!! it took me awhile, but when he would start telling me, it was my fault? i came back at him and said why isn't it yours?
