Are the rights to perform the Lion King musical out yet? Or is it still on Broadway?

My show choir is doing a musical this spring, but our teacher won't tell us what it is. The only thing he has said is that it'll cost around $1000 a night to perfom, and it will have a better outcome than when we did Grease (Full house friday, 50 people short Sat)

i think lion king is still in a professional theatre somewhere. i don't think the rights to that will be available any time soon

Since the Lion King is still on Broadway AND touring nationally, the local rights aren't yet available.

Perhaps you're doing High School Musical? I can't imagine what else would cost that much....
