I have always thought this song to be known as 'The Whale' or 'The Whale Song' - but am still unsure of it's actual title AND who sang it.
From memory, some of the lyrics were "...so bend your backs and row my lads and take me to my whale, tonight we'll sing %26amp; dance and tomorrow night we'll sail - we'll sail into the harbour, no prouder men there'll be - and show them all we've captured the 'monster' from the sea..."
Gratitude to whomever might 'seek %26amp; find' - especially the SINGERS of the song.

The Whale
Artist: Pirate Pete? is that you??? LOL
We sailed from port one morning when the weather it was fair
A gentle breeze it blew then and no one gave a care
They sang and danced and laughed that night and opened up the keg
We're out to catch the monster whale that took the Captains leg
The Captain says "A piece of gold for he who sees me whale"
"So bend yer backs and row me lads I know that you won't fail
And bend yer backs and row me lads and take me to me whale
Tonight we'll sing and dance, tomorrow night we'll sail
We'll sail into the harbour and no prouder men there'll be
And show them all we captured the monster from the sea
They saw the whale one morning when the weather it was fair
The men were white as ghosts but the Captain didn't care
I'll take the whale meself he says the weak can stay behind
The strong can share my glory and tonight they share me wine
The whale it came so close it was bigger than the sky
We lowered down the longboats and the Captain gave a cry
So bend yer backs and row me lads and take me to me whale
Tonight we'll sing and dance, tomorrow night we'll sail
We'll sail into the harbour and no prouder men there'll be
And show them all we captured the monster from the sea
di di di di di di di di
The whale it came so close it almost tipped the boat
The Captain raised his spear and rammed it downed its throat
The whale it gave a mournful cry and lifted its great tale
And brought it down acrashing hit their boat worse than a gale
A hundred years have past since the Captain and his men
Went below to spend their days in Davey Jones' Den
The whale it goes on living but inside it wears a scar
And if yer ever near that place a voice calls from afar
So bend yer backs and row me lads and take me to me whale
Tonight we'll sing and dance, tomorrow night we'll sail
We'll sail into the harbour and no prouder men there'll be
And show them all we captured the monster from the sea
